The model was to check the proportions of the banners relative to the room and layout of the names.
Künstlerbrüder design
Development of the design. The idea was to present the families as battling groups in major art world jousting. Technical considerations and the space made it necessary to combine several families on one banner. The main hue of the banner relates to the period when they worked.
Automation
The design took the form of a specially written banner generating program which took a database with names and numbers, and produced (according to our plans obviously) a series of pdf documents. Each time the program ran, the parameters would work out differently. The final version was just the last one generated at the time they needed to get printed.
