Instant Types were developed following the same process as Hands and Trixie. A sample of typefaces that are available in the world around us, but never made it into typographic form: stamps, punch tapes, stencil letters, box and crate letters. FF Instant Types brought those faces into the previously sterile typographic environment of desktop publishing. Many typefaces followed (or copied) the Instant Type examples, a sign of their success.
